This was my first experience shipping a car. The first broker I tried promised shipment in 3 to 5 days, but after waiting 3 weeks still not even a ship date had been scheduled. I came across this review web site and called some of the shippers/brokers. In my opinion, the review ratings seemed to accurately reflect them. Some of the brokers with poor reviews didn't even know this web site existed, and if they knew what customers said about them, maybe they would do a better job. One of the shippers with a poor review even insisted I needed to "buy additional insurance for $150, since they are not responsible for damage during transit". It felt like a veiled threat (all shippers should be licensed and bonded- you should check on that before choosing a shipper). The shippers with good reviews were very professional and helpful, and some gave me great advice even though they didn't have a truck available for my ship date & route. I finally chose Specialty Mobile (broker), who set me up with Gentle Touch shippers. Both were very professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend them! They slipped past the estimated delivery date by a couple days, but I was understanding, since the route was 3000 miles. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They took good care of the car, and even cleaned off the windows for me. It's nice to know someone cares about their customers. It's also great to have a place to share this experience.
