I had previously arranged for transportation through Direct Express Auto Transport, but they were unable to fulfill my order (see: http://www.transportreviews.com/review/00026893.asp)

I started calling other brokers the day before I had to leave for Virginia to see who would be able to pick up my 2005 Honda Accord the fastest. Specialty Mobile Systems honored a quote I requested a month prior when I was investigating different brokers and within a few minutes had lined up a driver to pick up my vehicle later that same week.

They contracted with First Class Auto Transport to make the delivery. The driver had a vehicle malfunction which delayed pickup but they were still able to deliver on time.

One thing to plan for is that door to door delivery is not always literally your front door. I lived on a fairly wide street in Utah that even cranes drive down, but the transport truck still wanted to meet at a large parking lot since they often have to shift cars around and this is more easily done where you have extra parking stalls. I left my car with my mother so she asked a neighbor to go with her to the parking lot. There are a lot of big box stores out West where this is very easy to do, but for those in the East or who are new to a given area you may do some additional planning and be prepared to tell the driver which large parking lot you would like to meet them in and provide directions on how to get there from a major road or interstate.
