CALL SOUTH BEACH TRANSPORT AND ASK FOR JACKIE......
If you have never gone through this process before then you need to know, it can be a very mean process. Up until the very last minute I had a guy from another company telling me that I was an idiot for going with anyone but his company. Jackie, from South Beach talked me through it and finally said "I promise, I will take care of you." SHE DID!!! Her rates were honest and lower by $200 for some brokers, and $100 for most. She gave me her cell number and went the extra mile, even when she was off work she kept me posted. Call South Beach and ask for Jackie, she will explain the process and answer any question, at any time.
One other note- South Beach will only charge your CC once the car is at your house.
All in all, Jackie was top, she was calm, positive and great to work with, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH HER.
So, here is a tip, all of these brokers post on the same board, and they can see what each other is posting, they are scrambling for the same hauler, and the hauler will take his share no matter what the broker tells you. I had one tell me "that the driver takes it all," not true, the driver takes say 800 and the broker gets 150 for a 950 bid, that is the fact.
This is what happened to me, A Broker (We Will Transport It Corp) called me saying my broker of choice (South Beach) was just trying to load on their truck and I am making a mistake, a lie, they usually don't own the truck. They were trying to literally scare me into going with them, making it sound like they owned the spot and can say who can use it. The Broker, (We Will Transport It Corp) was just trying to steal my business at a higher rate. In this case some private trucker owned the truck, and was just trying to fill his load.
The process, a trucker watches the board (where every broker is posting) and then accepts the bid if it is going to make money sense. Side note: some companies do own their own trucks. But just about every broker will say something like "we are loading our truck this week." They often use the possessive "our truck" to fool you, again is it some guy that owns it. In my case, Jackie found a trucker that I like, he is personable and has communicated his process very well and has a likeable disposition, that alone is worth going with South Beach. I acknowledge that the broker is at the mercy of what trucker takes their order but they can still be choosy if they sense a bad deal.
