This is my second experience shipping a vehicle (Enclosed both times...I love my vehicles ! Didn’t want ANY damage ) from Tennessee to Washington State with Ship-A-Car-Direct, and I have to say that the experience this time was awesome, even better than before .
We just shipped in late January , *enclosed* transport for our Lexus SUV and the rates were decent , definitely several hundred dollars less than trying to ship in summer or fall .
I wasn’t sure if we were going to use this company (a broker) this time around , after shipping our first vehicle (also a Lexus) with them about a year ago ...to recap that experience from last year : our enclosed vehicle had arrived in perfect shape (the highest ranked priority for us , no problems there, thankfully) , but I had had a negative experience with the initial pick-up driver who was super shady , he had shown up late and then quickly marked on his phone app , all kinds of invisible things he noted as “wrong” with my vehicle on his initial inspection pre-loading activity that truly didn’t exist on the vehicle (I believe trying to cover himself for later if there was actual damage and a claim later) and then had bulked when I wanted him to actually show me what he had marked on his pre-inspection form , claiming a language barrier problem when I questioned him about it and wanted him to show me what he was actually referring to . Anyway, after that stressful and upsetting experience with that driver/carrier (a “bad apple”) at the initial pick-up a year ago , I was questioning if we wanted to go with Ship A Car Direct again or to explore other options, but I am really glad and relieved that I returned to them .
So fast forward to 2021 , I was needing to ship a second vehicle from TN to WA, I did a lot of research this time again, and made some other inquiries with various companies (brokers, carriers ) who are ranked/ reviewed as the industry ranked bests apparently ... and ultimately came back to Ship A Car Direct as having the best communication, most straight forward and easy to arrange , best recourse if something went wrong later , plus they didn’t call and harass my phone relentlessly, and didn’t ignore my questions like the other companies did. And they sent a quote promptly online to my email , without making me have to “call” them for a quote or a pressure sale from a sales person .
Additionally , Scott personally responded to my questions along the way very quickly and thoughtfully, I was impressed by the level of personalized customer service even though he and his team must be busy fielding numerous other customer inquiries. I felt like I was an important and valued customer to them and I appreciate that .
As soon as the carrier (driver) company was assigned , setting up the pick-up was easy , the actual driver for the trip came at the appropriate day/time , was courteous and friendly , loaded my Lexus carefully into his semi (much better compared to my previous experience where the driver had loaded it into an enclosed small trailer to be loaded again into another larger vehicle somewhere else) . I was even able to leave a few items in the car for transport , no problems . Off it went !
My vehicle was picked up on a Tuesday evening in TN and delivered on Saturday in WA ! I was super impressed . Vehicle was in perfect shape and condition , same driver , a very courteous, friendly and efficient guy .
Ship-a-Car-Direct has won my loyalty as a customer , I would use them and recommend them again , for the ease of use , peace of mind , communication , straightforward policies , and more importantly , their selection of a great driver and carrier to transport my vehicle this time . They advertise that they work to keep only the best carriers and drivers on their list , and to not re-use the bad apples , and I believe that. The price was competitive and decent also , and the transport of my vehicle was seamless and fast.
