I didn't try to call up carriers directly to arrange transport of my RAV4 from the Maryland to Saint Louis. Instead, I signed up easily with Ship a Car Direct. They let multiple carriers bid for the job for a price that usually gets a quick response. The first carrier fell through when they had mechanical trouble, but Ship a Car Direct got another carrier that worked out. They too had some mechanical delays, but the car ended up shipping in five days from when I first signed up. Two days later, my car was in Saint Louis. The carrier, Dinito Transport, was good too. The dispatcher was easy to talk to, the driver was conscientious and worked around our schedule, and there were no mix ups or problems. Ship a Car Direct was also monitoring the whole process.
