After doing a lot of research and contacting multiple companies for quotes, I was understandably nervous about shipping my '05 Kia Optima from Los Angeles to Connecticut. Reading about Ship a Car Direct here on TransportReviews.com led me to contact them.

David was great in explaining to me how the process works and how the business is run. It's important to understand all of the details because shipping a car works differently than shipping a package or a letter via FedEx. He explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. He always answered my voicemails and messages promptly. Even when my plans changed closer to my departure (moving across country requires a lot of moving parts!) David was able to roll with the punches and still offer me the best rate and service.

We began but putting my job on the board at a slightly lower rate since I had a two week window to find a carrier. After a week, we bumped it up $100 and a carrier was assigned shortly thereafter. The carrier, Nationwide Auto Transport, came on the assigned time and called me ahead of time to let me know of their arrival. I was lucky, since I was free the entire day, and was basically waiting for the call. The driver, Serge, arrived and promptly and efficiently loaded my car onto the truck. The inspection of the car and Bill of Lading process was fast and easy. Upon David's recommendation, I had already taken copious photos of my car as proof of its existing condition. The car was loaded and driven off without a hitch. The whole process must've taken 15 minutes tops.

The car arrived in CT within the time frame given at my parent's house and the unloading and inspection of the car went just fine. There was no damage to the car (aside from a dirty exterior from being driven on an open truck) and the unloading and payment (via money order) went smoothly.

All in all, as someone who did a ton of research on shipping my car cross country and was very nervous about it (having read a bunch of horror stories) I was pleased with the service provided by David at Ship a Car Direct and the carrier they assigned. I would recommend them to a friend.
