I purchased a beautiful shiny red '04 Mustang woth only 25,000 miles on it, from a Michigan dealer a couple thousand miles away, via Cars.com so needed a shipper. The first shipper I hired with a deposit, Stateway, could not find a driver after 2 weeks of waiting, so I got a refund of my $175 deposit from Stateway and switched to Ship A Car Direct. Brian at Ship A Car Direct not only did not charge any deposit (as is their policy) until after he had a Driver whose Carrier is Safe Way (not Stateway), but also his shippin quote was in line with quotes from other shippers and he applied part of his own deposit to the amount the Safe Way carrier or driver driver receives, so it was only 3 or 4 days before I had a Driver. The Driver verified that he picked up my car and phoned me twice en route to let me know his progress, which was within the estimated time frame, and called again when he was close. The Driver was courteous and pleasant despite arriving in 110-degree heat here in Palm Desert, and promptly unloaded the car. There was no damage, no problem. It should be noted that I did NOT get paid for this Review, nor did I receive any kind of incentive to do so. Brian, like some other shippers, first wanted $30 to be refunded or rebated after delivery if I post a Review. I refused to do it that way, sono $30 fee was charged, and I am not under any pressure to get any rebate, so therefore this is my honest, voluntary Review. I am president of Americans For Open Records (AmFOR.net), a civil liberties orgaization since 1989 which advocates truth, which is what I'm sharing to show Bran that he doesn't need to bribe customers for a good review when his service IS as good as it gets.
