Shipped my brand new Mini from Austin, TX to NJ and was VERY concerned - the general state of auto-transportation industry in America is generally abysmal.
Decided to go with the Safe Direct Car Shipping even though their quote was above average. Note that Safe Direct is a BROKER; they do not actually ship the cars (broker fee $225, car ship fee $500). They post the pickup/destination/timeframe on a central repository (along with many other brokers) and the carriers check their schedules, then pick which shipment they take. Even though I could have done this through any broker, Safe Direct seemed to have the best reviews - they do check on carrier insurance (and they provided me with a copy) and even offer to pay up to $500 toward a deductible if the car was damaged and the carrier wouldn't allow me to make a claim on their insurance. If the carrier had bad reviews, then Safe Direct would blacklist them.
Either way, throughout the whole process I probably emailed Jason 5 times and called 3 time - he was able to reply back or call me back within 12 hours of each inquiry, and gave me more than enough info.
Was very happy with Jason's professionalism, and I was happy with the overall level of service.
