Being early isn't always a good thing

I called around and got a few quotes before shipping our car, it all appeared to be in the same price range, but we chose Safe-Direct Auto Shipping because it is a BBB approved company. Jason proved to be a very good customer service representative. He explained the bid and matching process by the different carriers and gave us a better rate than the competitors (once I asked him if he could match them). The one set back we had was in the email receipt of our order, it did not contain the destination address, which worried me until we got a completed receipt sent to us.

The carrier that transported our SUV was B&L Transportation. They threw me off schedule by insisting that they pick up the car a day before the date that we had arranged with Jason. The driver wanted to get going ASAP and wasn't willing to come on the arranged date of the pick-up. So I gave in and the car was shipped early with an expected delivery by the following Saturday. He arrived at the destination two days early and late at night (I can't imagine how fast he was driving on the highways), which became an inconvenience for my family that was receiving the car. Again B&L Transportation just wanted to keep going nonstop to get their money regardless of how the customer felt. If they couldn't deliver it when it was convenient for them our car would be put away in a storage warehouse and I guess they'd charge us for that service too.

Bottom line - go with Safe-Direct Auto Shipping, and avoid B&L Transportation if you want to keep to your schedule
