The overall experience of transporting a vehicle with Safe-Direct Car Shipping went well. We had confusion on the pick-up end that generated some concerns. I made the reservations to have a vehicle picked up in Kansas and shipped to Washington State. Since I was not at either point due to other commitments, I had a contact on each end to handle the pick-up and delivery. The driver continuously called me rather than the contact person for the pick-up and the pick-up time that the driver originally established did not materialize. The original estimated time for pick-up was 6 PM and the vehicle was eventually pick-up approximately 1130 PM. I feel that 1130 PM was not an appropriate time for this situation. I understand that on the road there are always situations beyond the drivers control but the situation was compounded further by little or no updates along the way to establish new schedule time and calling the wrong person when he did call. To compound the issue further it was very difficult to understand the driver. This caused a little panic and confusion with the contact person.
The report I received on the delivery was that everything went very smoothly and was with-in approximately 30 minutes of the estimated time of delivery. The driver was polite and courteous but the communication in establishing the delivery time was still an issue. Even with all the confusion at the pick-up point I think it went well and things worked out to satisfaction.
