My father passed away in Southern California, leaving me his pride and joy, a 2002 Chevy Camaro 35th Anniversary Edition. The problem was, I live in Maryland now. I did not want to drive it across country, putting all those miles on it, or take the chance of breaking down halfway home. I spent months trying to "do my homework" when it came to finding a good transporter, and I'm glad I did! When I called Safe-Direct (on a Monday), they explained how the process works, and gave me an estimated quote of $900, and explained that it was more or less like a bid, that I would have to be patient, and the price may go up, but that it would only go up on approval by me. It was nice to have someone truthfully explain the process, since I had no previous experience having a vehicle transported. On Tuesday, Safe-Direct called and said they have a driver, he could pick up Wednesday but he wants $50 more which was no big deal in my eyes, it got my dad's car on it's way. Once I agreed, I was told it would be picked up on Wednesday and delivered to me on Sunday. Later Tuesday evening, I got a call from the actual driver, wanting to know if he could pick up in a couple hours. I gladly agreed, thinking this is going quicker than I expected! I was overwhelmingly happy to get a call from the driver on Friday, just 2 1/2 days after the car was picked up, letting me know that he is almost here, and wanting to agree on a drop off point. I received the car about 3pm Friday. The driver and his partner were courteous, happy and helpful. I paid the remaining $700 (less the deposit I already paid Safe-Direct prior to pick-up) and drove my father's baby home a very happy man. Would I go through this experience again? Yes, and I would absolutely use Safe-Direct again!
