I recently had my son’s Mercedes-Benz transported from the Northeast to the South, and the whole process took just two days. From start to finish, I worked with Paul, my broker, who secured a great quote with a reputable company that handled the transportation smoothly. Paul was responsive and made everything easy from a logistical standpoint. Paul explained the entire process to me. Naturally, I was nervous because I never shipped a vehicle before but it was a great experience once you trust the process. The transaction was straightforward: I paid the broker fee, and then the remaining balance was expected in cash upon delivery. It’s understandable why cash is preferred at delivery, given the nature of the transaction and the fact that the vehicle is exchanged in person. One thing to note: since the transport truck is quite large and needs ample space, they typically won’t pick up or deliver directly in residential areas. Instead, they’ll coordinate with you to meet on a nearby main road or a safe location, which for me was less than half a mile away. It’s a minor inconvenience, but it’s worth being prepared for this part of the process. Again, knowing is the key and once you understand the reason, it all makes sense. The driver was very nice and provided an update once he was closer to the drop-off location. Given so many variables, such as weather and traffic, they can only estimate a drop off date and time, so you just have to be patient. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. I didn’t feel the need to check in constantly, as I trusted they were focused on getting the job done. Everything went smoothly, and I’d definitely use them again. They really exceeded my expectations.
