Horrible experience

Horrible and unprofessional experience from start to finish. Months ago, our Safe Auto Trucking sales associate promised a rate that he pledged would be honored. He noted that the amount could be higher/lower depending on the going rate but that it would be around the number they quoted. I was told that the associate would reach out when he found a driver, commonly days before the desired shipment day. As the departure date neared, I reached out to Safe Auto Trucking nervous for updates. "Be patient. I'm working on finding a driver" the associate would tell me. Three days before the determined shipment date, our associate changed his tune. The number he quoted me was now low: the price to ship was nearly double what he had quoted me. I reached out to another company for a quote and that associate was kind enough to give me insight into the process. The other company could see the internal messaging board that brokers and drivers use to bid on car shipments. Turns out that Safe Auto Trucking had only listed the car THREE DAYS before the desired shipment date and the price he had listed, which drivers bid on, was higher than the number he had quoted me. Of course driver weren't willing to ship for the number quoted: Safe Auto Trucking hadn't even made an bid of that number! Safe Auto Trucking likely did this to get a bigger cut of the shipment cost knowing I'd have little recourse since my desired shipment date was days away. By then, it was too late for me to change course (turns out that drivers are less likely to pick up a car when they see it listed by multiple brokers and there is no requirement for a broker to remove a listing.) If my car had been listed weeks ago, the other company told me, it was possible I could have matched with a driver willing to accept a lower rate. But because I needed my car shipped ASAP and Safe Auto Trucking had run out the clock, I had little leverage. After a continual lousy process (i.e. "your car will be picked up today. Just kidding, now it will be picked up tomorrow") my car has yet to arrive at its destination. Safe Auto Trucking told me car would arrive in 8 days or less. Now entering day 9, I've had no updates. I continue to have no sense of when my car will arrive or where it is in the country. Safe Auto Trucking, who once hounded me multiple times a day (see picture) urging me to book, has disappeared and no one has returned my calls. I am stressed, without a car, and with no updates. Do not make the mistake I did: DO NOT book with Safe Auto Trucking. This is a thoroughly unregulated industry that takes advantage of consumers to make a buck.
