Unfortunately, this vehicle was being transported in the middle of winter, when the western and central provinces were experiencing extreme cold temperatures and snowstorms. As per the quote the owner received, and the conversation we had they were aware that it would take longer than normal-
"This is roughly a 7-10 days – Transit Time ETA while your vehicle is physically moving (weather conditions pending) from departure time, in the first available load. Due to the Coronavirus situation, and the higher than normal volume of vehicles needing to be moved as the different provinces are dealing with Covid-19, delivery times may be longer than normal.
NOTE: Transit Time is when your vehicle is physically moving, NOT while your vehicle is waiting to be loaded, or in a yard waiting to continue its journey. In some areas a terminal is an auto dealership, secured compound, or business commercial space accessible to a car carrier on a trucking route."
Then they were reminded afterwards when we received a phone call that the owner was continuously calling the dealership.
"As mentioned during our conversations, all vehicles are placed in the first available load, loads are scheduled to leave once a week, and dispatch uses the policy, first come-first served. So, as mentioned you are looking at roughly 14 business days.

Also, keep in mind the winter weather has not been very good this year with very cold weather (which affects the operation of the car carriers - hydraulic system), and the snow storms, which we have no control over.
As soon as dispatch advises me of what car carrier your vehicle is in I will be advising you, and will be contacting Jonathan when a car carrier will be in the Newmarket area. Talk to you later,"
When I was advised that his vehicle was being assigned to a driver, he said he wanted to cancel, and I mention that as per the contract he signed the cancellation fee would apply.
"8. SVP Auto Shipping agrees to transport your vehicle in a quick, timely manner as per your instructions. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot guarantee an exact delivery time, and we do not pay for vehicle rentals, or other expenses, nor shall SVP Auto Shipping be liable for any non-use of your vehicle. All vehicles are shipped in the first available load (first come first served), and all rough timelines are Transit Times (while your vehicle is actually moving)."
Then we contacted the dealership to advise them and found out he was having another company pick up his vehicle.
Unfortunately, all auto shipping companies have no control over the weather and other situations, and can not guarantee a time of arrival. So, when you are planning to move your vehicle during any season during the year, especially during the winter months, keep in mind that situations can occur that is beyond an auto shipping companies control, and that delays may occur. Just like when you have order something online, flying, etc.
