Having transported several classic and new ‘off the lot’ vehicles from western Canada to the east without any issues using other shipping companies, I wanted to relay my recent experience with SVP. Think twice about using their services. Given my recent purchase of a high value and rare classic vehicle, I paid $3,800 including insurance (a premium compared to other companies) to SVP to ship a 1968 Camaro (L78 396/4SPD with Documentation) from Red Deer, Alberta to Miramichi, New Brunswick. Prior to loading in Alberta, the Camaro was inspected by the seller, photos were taken and I was assured by SVP that the vehicle would make its way across Canada, maintaining mint condition, weeks later, the vehicle was offloaded at my home in New Brunswick without a cover—a basic necessity when transporting any car particularly across long distances. Upon closer inspection we were alarmed to discover a substantial paint chip on the Camaro’s hood which occurred in transit. I immediately contacted SVP’s owner alerting him to the issue, and forwarding vehicle “before” shipment photos and the paint chip in the “after”. Rather than taking immediate accountability for the poor handling of my coverless Camaro, SVP’s owner became confrontational, rude, and unresponsive. Over a lengthy two and half-week period of texts, emails and phone calls, SVP insisted that the Camaro’s paint quality was poor and old when that just isn’t the case as confirmed by a local car bodyman who also provided a repair estimate between $700-800. SVP’s owner e-transferred a meger $300, less than half of the total repair costs. If I could, I’d give 0 stars to SVP for: careless vehicle handling, combative customer service, and no value for a premium price. AVOID!

When this vehicle arrived at its final destination the person that accepted the delivery signed of on the delivery sheet that everything is fine. If after they received the vehicle they noticed that the paint was flaking on their 1968 Camaro that has nothing to do with the transporting their vehicle in a fully enclosed car carrier completely covered up (no auto shipping company covers flaking paint on a vehicle. Being a family business that loves cars, and trying to be helpful we sent the owner some money to help him out, something that we certainly did not have to do. MANAGEMENT
