This was the worst customer experience I have ever had in dealing with car transport company, and I have had my vehicles shipped by others from LA to Chicago and then LA to Baltimore. I booked the transport online in May for a planned June 18th pick-up date. I began calling the company about two weeks in advance to check on the status of driver assignment, and I was reassured each and every time that a driver would be assigned approximately 7 to 10 days prior to the scheduled pick-up date. With less than a week remaining until the pick-up, they still had not assigned a driver and daily status updates were met with strong reassurance that my booking was at the top of the queue for driver assignment. Direct questions from me were answered with statements such as "we're working on it" and "a driver will be assigned," but they refused to provide any timelines, even when pressed. I spoke primarily with Janelle during this process. She, along with other service representatives, were extremely unhelpful during this time and seemed put-upon and annoyed by my obvious worry and frustration that a driver had not been confirmed for a booking that I made weeks in advance. My pick-up date came and went- without an assigned driver, without any update from customer service, and without apologies. I ended up canceling the booking and using another company.
In contrast, my calls to another transport carrier following this fiasco were answered promptly, and they willingly gave me realistic timelines about when to expect status updates and reasonable pick-up time frames. Don't use RoadRunner Auto Transport. They're dishonest and unprofessional. Although I was assured I my credit card wouldn't be charged the down payment fee, you can bet I'm checking over my next statement carefully to ensure that this company doesn't try to cheat me out of money in addition to the time and stress they've already caused me.
