Move from CA to CO

Needed to move car from San Diego to Steamboat Springs CO. It took some time to determine that the broker could not obtain a transport to Steamboat, noting the need to traverse the Rockies (!). Asked for the car to be moved to Colorado Springs as an alternative - this initially was potentially a possibility, but required a wait until 2 days prior to the actual pickup date before it could be confirmed. After final confirmation, it was then noted that the car would arrive 3 days before it could be picked up, and that it would be an additional amount to be transported from their storage facility in Denver to Colorado Springs, although they would waive the daily storage charge. To put an end to the issues beset by a move outside of Denver, the car was picked up directly from Denver, rather than a true "door to door" delivery. At best, the move was challenging due to timing (only 48 hours prior to confirmation), need for potential additional charges (completed transport to Colorado Springs), and various other issues which precluded the value per price paid for the actual delivery. NONETHELESS, the car was in the same good condition when it was delivered as when picked up.

Felicia did a very good job trying to find other alternatives; those who were "on the ground" picking up the car (Bill) and meeting at the Denver yard (Joe) were courteous and helpful, especially as when arriving at the yard, the paperwork had been forgotten at the office and there was thus a delay in actual delivery. Alex the dispatcher was also very courteous during this time.

This is the third car moving experience, and certainly the most difficult. While Felicia did her best to facilitate the move, and I would potentially use her again for a move of a vehicle, I would not be willing to deal with the challenges this move entailed, having moved vehicles from IL to CA, from MI to MD, all without the issues which cropped up with this delivery. Of note is that the search for a transporter began at 27 July for a move on the 23rd of August, which may not have been enough time for Felicia to find an appropriate transporter.

FELICIA BOND @ (602) 428-6872, felicia@redcarpetautotransport.com Hello Bert, THANK YOU for taking some time out to post some feed back on your experience. As I recall; you were referred to me by a good friend of yours (Linda) and so I'd like to thank you for your confidence in myself and our drivers since word of mouth advertising is really important to me. What's important to a driver is when a vehicle can load or deliver as well as the loading and delivery locations. Also, your flexibility in being availability to release and receive the vehicle. So in reviewing the route San Diego was a good city to find availability in while Steamboat Springs, CO is considered more rural and caused more delays and challenges. A driver has to be able to justify the route to be able to dispatch a vehicle. Just because a vehicle is vehicle doesn't necessarily mean a driver has availability to go there. Much has to do with timing. In the end, I'm glad I was able to find availability within the window of availability you provided and everything worked out for your business relocation. If you had opted for a more metropolitan city there would have been different availability. Well, please take care until next time and thanks again Bert. Sincerely, Felicia B
