I went with this company because of the good reviews on this site, and Mike initially seemed very knowledgeable and eager to help. After agreeing to work with his company, Mike dispatched a truck to my house much faster than I anticipated, he called me on Thursday night to tell me the truck will be there Friday night. I start making plans to get my car ready to ship(renting and borrowing cars to get around before moving), and Mike calls me back, he had misquoted the price, it would be $100 more, but the truck was on its way, I reluctantly agreed. So I spend all afternoon driving around to get my car below the quarter tank limit that is required for shipping with Matson (Mike didn't tell me about this, fortunately, the driver mentioned it) so the driver can pick the car up Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon comes and goes, no driver, he calls around 9 and we arrange for him to pick it up first thing the next morning. No problem, things happen, the driver assures me that he will still have it to Long Beach to get it on the scheduled boat. The deadline for arrival at port comes and goes and no word about my car. Finally, I check with Matson and it was delivered after the cut off for making the boat it was scheduled for, so it would have to wait another week. This means another week of rental cars, which aren't cheap on the Big Island. I called Mike to find out what happened, he told me that I was wrong, it was never scheduled to be on the first boat (despite the paperwork he sent me showing that it was scheduled for that boat), and that I should have expected it to take a long time (even though he told me it would be 18-21 days from door to door). I have these documents if anyone would like to see them. I feel completely misled by this company, whats the point of rushing my car on a truck if it has to sit at a shipping yard for 11 days before leaving...I realize the logistics of minimizing downtime are tricky, but that is what I am paying for!
To summarize:
-Late Pickup at home
-Changed Price Quote as truck was on its way to my home
-Late arrival at shipping yard (resulting in more cost in car rentals)
-Poor customer service and dishonesty about when they said it would ship.
Overall, I would say that I was out at least an $400 because of additional car rentals and increased cost of the ship. All of which I could probably have gotten over had Mike been even mildly apologetic, instead of just telling me I was wrong. If I could rate lower than poor I would. Spend the extra money and ship with someone else, you will end up spending it anyway.
