Customer service leading up to our contract was great. Our agent returned our calls promptly and kept us informed of any possible changes that might occur.
We paid a $200 deposit and arranged for our car to be picked up between June 28th and July 1st. When it was not picked up by the 1st we began calling and did not get a response until July 5th. At which time we were told that the carrier had backed out and Professional Moving Solutions did not know when a new carrier would be available.
We stated that we simply wanted a refund of our deposit so that we could find someone else to contract with. The response we got, in short, was that they would refund 80% of our deposit, and ONLY IF we signed a confidentiality statement! This is the actual waiver (copy & pasted) that they wanted us to sign:
"Upon receipt by the undersigned a refund for deposit of $160.00 the undersigned hereby and completely releases and further discharges Professional Moving Solutions Inc.
Its past, present or future officers, directors, stockholders, agents and employees from any and all past, present, future claim, demands, obligations, actions rights, damage costs, expenses, and compensation of any nature whatsoever, whether based on tort, contract or other theory of recovery. Which undersigned or anyone entitled to any recovery, required on account of, or in any way going out of , the contracts for services rendered and entered into between parties named here within.
Furthermore, all events and actions leading up to this agreement, including the terms and conditions of this agreement are to remain confidential and no further claims, complaints, statements or other action may be taken or reported to any state , city, government, consumer group, public , media organization internet website or credit card agency."
We went through many phone calls, and a huge headache with Professional Moving Solutions, trying to get our money back, without waiving our RIGHT to report to the BBB, or other review sites such as this.
It wasn't until we handed the situation over to a lawyer that we were finally refunded our deposit....without signing their confidentiality agreement.
Professional Moving Solutions turned a delay into a nightmare with their outrageous handling of THEIR error!
