SMART AUTO TRANSPORT took my deposit and "booked" Prodigy Transport for transport of my vehicle from east coast to west. Prodigy FAILED to show up for 3 DAYS after the agreed scheduled pickup time. SMART AUTO brokered with a Prodigy trucking company.

After 3 days of waiting at home and repeated calls to SMart Auto Transport, the trucking company called SMART AUTO and claimed "mechanical issues" caused their delay; when in fact the truck was delayed for "new tires", replaced hydraulic lines, and brakes. Sounds like "maintainence" issues to me.

At the end of the third full day of waiting, I told Smart Auto to cancel the driver. Then they offered to send someone else. Why would I wait for another failed service from them.

SMART AUTO refused to give me back my $155. deposit after I made numerous calls to them and waited many hours at home for pickup of my vehicle. SMART AUTO claims they "earned their fee" despite booking an inferior transporter.

I call another trucking company in Canton, Ma. that night. They took my order and I got excellent service, and my vehicle arrived safely in just 3 days!

I recently heard from a SMART AUTO vendor who said I was LUCKY I did not use Prodigy. The vendor heard really bad things in the industry about them. I suppose I should be thankful I only lost $155. and not my car too!
