It is a sad day that I have to write a bad review. What is this world coming to? Hopefully, you don't have to go thru the same.
I finally found a car (2004 Acura tsx) for my niece and purchased it up in Seaford, Delaware. My initial phone contact with New Way Moving Service on January 28th, 2011 sounds promising. The lady I spoke with sounded very nice and reassuring. So I placed my deposit $149.00 on 01/31/2011 for “Standard Shipping” which means they will pick up vehicle within 10 days from the day the order was placed.
On 2/1/11, a large blizzard hit all of northeastern coast. Mr. Carlos, the dispatcher gave me a courtesy call on 2/3/ 11 to let me know that there will be a delay and that he will keep me posted every 2 days. I said, “That’s okay. I understand.” Five days has passed, no phone calls. So I called Mr. Carlos back to get an update on 2/8/11. He said that there isn’t much drivers going into Seaford DE, but he will try his best to get a driver and will get back with me later in the evening. Mr. Carlos never called back. On 2/9/11, I called him back to get an update. Again, he said it’s been real busy and that he will see if he could find a driver and called me back later that evening. Mr. Carlos again, didn’t call back. On 2/10/11, I called and ask him if he find a driver yet? He said been working on it. I confronted Mr. Carlos. I said, “ You told me multiple times that you will call me back to give me an update, but you never did. All a man has is his word. And if he breaks his word, he has nothing.” He was silenced in short and again promised me that he will try his best to find a driver and call me back tomorrow.
On 2/11/11, no phone calls yet. So, I did a little research and call local transporters in the Delaware area. One transporter company I spoke with, said that there are drivers going in and out of Seaford. The problem is finding one that is willing to ship it for $350 (total price for shipping is $499.00~ $350 goes to driver and $149 for broker). The gentleman said that it is impossible for a broker to find a driver that will ship for $350 after the snow storm; that the market price for ship my vehicle is around $700. He also said that the price will be cheaper in later weeks. That evening, I didn’t hear back from Mr. Carlos, so I called him back. I confronted Mr. Carlos. I ask him how come he didn’t call me back? I spoke to him regarding what the local Delaware area transporter company shared to me. I told that if it is impossible for him to find a driver at that price, then refund my deposit back so I can look for another transporting company. He told me that he has to ask his manager and get back with me by Monday.
Monday came (2/14/11), no phone calls from Mr. Carlos. So, I placed a call to him. Normally, he picks up. This time there was an answering machine. I left a message to call me back. On 2/15/11, again no call back. I tried to contact him multiple times but was unsuccessful. Left message with no return calls. I got frustrated, tired of the broken promises, and tired of working with a very poor customer service. So, I placed my dispute of $149 with my credit card comp and move on. I was able to find a moving company who does not require a deposit upfront. Spoke with a nice dispatcher by the name of Nicki at AAA transporters.
March 23, 2011, I received a letter from my credit card company saying New Way wants to rebuttal the amount $149. On March 30, 2011 I try to make ontact with Mr. Carlos. The sales lady said that Mr. Carlos is no longer with them. How interesting. Does New Way Moving have any business principles to stand upon with doing business? I wonder what kind of feedback I will get from the manger now. The general manager's name is RACHEL LEVY. Write that name down and pray for her. God Bless and good hunting for a good auto transporter
