Based upon good online reviews of Montway, I had them move my car from CT to NC. Based upon my experience with Montway, I now describe their strategy as one of "bait and switch": Initially, they get your business by matching other competitive bids. After picking up the car, they give you an estimated time when it'll be delivered. I heard nothing until we were a few days before the final delivery date. Like most customers, I needed my car. That's when the calls start. The first call explained that this is a very busy time and the drivers wanted an extra $100. I refused. A day later, another call explaining that my destination was off the beaten path and drivers want more ($75). Again, I refused but said I'd pay an extra $50. To no one's surprise they called the next day having found a driver for the extra $50. Absolutely would not trust these guys. I now think their online reviews may not be legit. Then, there was damage to my car and immediately Montway makes it abundantly clear they have nothing to do with claims. Contact the carrier. Totally useless during the claim process despite very different claims during the sales process.

Hello John, we're sorry to hear about the reported inconvenience. Please know that the industry dictates pricing, our job as a broker is to present all options to the customer. Because the goal is to get a carrier assigned to transport the vehicle as quickly and securely as possible. It is the customer’s decision to proceed with that option or not. Working at the quoted price is not an issue, we could and would continue to seek out a carrier. We can see that our claims team was able to provide assistance in the reported claim.
