After Shipping TWO Cars, My Dad Told Me to Write This . . .

. . . That's right. My dad who puts everyone through the wringer said, "These guys did a teriffic job. You need to give them the 5 stars on the internet." We have never done anything like this because we thought it was only for "rich people". After my brother suggested we check it out, we were surprised at the prices. Then we computed how much we would spend on hotels, food, gas, oil changes, and wear and tear on the cars. It came out just a couple hundred dollars more than driving both cars from CA to FL. Then when we add in the time and stress on the family and cats, shipping the cars was the only way to go.

Rich called right away when I requested a quote. It was around 8 PM on a Sunday. He spend about 15 minutes explaining the whole process. He then told me to go to the BBB and review site before picking ANY transport service. Yes, we had calls from other companies but none took the time to answer our questions. He promptly sent an email with additional information. I did check out about 20 companies and Mercury came out on top every time.

I then called Rich to discuss dates and price. He was able to give us a ship date a few days away and the price was great. We followed the shipping directions and were ready to have both cars picked-up on Friday. A couple of people ahead of us did not have as much respect for the driver's time and caused a big delay. My husband couldn't understand how someone would be so insensitive to a business person's process. But, after talking with the driver and Rich, calmed down and realized that the extra day was an opportunity to include his business suits in the car so they would be ready for his first day of work at his new job. I only wish I had thought to include a small set of dishes to tide us over until our household goods arrive.

Saturday we received a call that the truck would be by in a couple of hours. We moved both cars to a more convenient location. We watched as they loaded our cars onto the trucks. I had never seem it before and it was quite and adventure. The gears and pulleys made the same noises as an old fashioned wooden roller coaster. My stomach felt as if I were on one. Jose and his partner know what they are doing. It became like watching a fine ballet.

They took off late Saturday afternoon into the cool Monterey summer. Monday night they called to let us know they would be in Florida by morning. They met my dad at the drop off point and delicately unload both our cars. Everyone one was amazed at their precision and care. But, what surprised me was just how impressed my father was. He's a tough cookie sometimes but was blown away with their professionalism and promptness. I have to admit that I take after him. I believe in customer service above all else and have to say, they are at the top of the game!
