clarity of delivery approach

Hillary was always reachable, always prompt in responding to questions. That said, the one area that is very unclear - and this appears to be true for ALL the auto transport companies - is whether the delivery will truly be "door-to-door." As it turned out, our transporter said they could not deliver it to our house, due to the size of the truck/our neighborhood. In this day and age, this could have been figured out at the very beginning of the process - either by Magic Carpet or the transporter - and communicated to us. This site evaluates the arrangers separately from the actual transporters, which makes no sense. This is ridiculous, as Magic Carpet is the company that CONTRACTS with the actual carrier, and should have ensured that either the vehicle was delivered to our door, which they did not, or informed me earlier that we would need to drive out 45 minutes away and meet the truck. Again, this seems to be typical of the entire industry, but the real customer service has to do with the actual transporter. Our driver was GREAT and very communicative, the company made no effort to have the car delivered closer to us, nor did Magic Carpet.

Kate, Thank you for your review, I'm sorry to hear that the carrier cut corners with your delivery. If you had contacted us we could have facilitated the delivery to get the truck closer to your home. To answer your question the reason that companies are assessed differently on this site is because they are in fact different and separate companies. In transporting there are Brokers and Carriers. We provide different kinds of service and have different kinds of contact with you the customer. My job is to estimate rates, educate customers on the industry, and to keep in contact during the process. The carriers job is to pick up and delivery your car safely. We provide different service which are both essential to transporting your car. In sum, we are evaluated separately because we are A) separate companies and B) perform different jobs for you. I'm sorry that you feel that you did not receive a 5 star service from us.
