Magic Carpet provided a great initial quote to transport my car from Florida to California. The initial quote from the sales rep was for $800. Shipment was set up and the deposite paid four weeks ahead of time.
Three days before the pick up date, I had not heard from the sales rep. I called and found out the shipment did not yet have a carrier. In other words, a truck had not been scheduled yet a couple of days before the pick up. The sales rep finally made it happen to the tune of an additional $35. It was too late to to get another shipper in my short timeline and I got squeezed for additional money after a solid quote was made and a deposite paid. I ended up having to front $915 instead of the $835 quoted.
I am however, receiving an $80 refund after this review is submitted, bringing my total to the second quote of $835 total spent.
The actual carrier, Sawgrass shipping, did a great job shipping the vehicle with only a small nick in the door. What do you expect in having a vehicle shipped? It is small enough that it is not worth fixing.
All in all - the vehicle got shipped in acceptable condition and made it to the destination on time. However I can't say the scheduling of the pick up went smoothly and the fact that I had to front $80 more than the quoted price was unexpected.
