Good experience w/Magic Carpet, but price moved upward

I have no complaint with the performance of The guys from Magic Carpet. They were polite, informative, professional, etc. One thing you need to realize about this method of conveyance, however, is that a company like Magic Carpet is functioning as the middleman, and as such is not really in great control over the final price. They put out a bid they think will entice a trucker to accept the deal based on their recent experience. In my case, the first trucker thought the car was located too far off his path, and wanted the contact person to meet him quite a distance away. That was not acceptable. The second trucker said he would go there, but wanted more money. I had waited weeks by that time, so I accepted. Casey lowered his part of the fee to compensate, which I appreciated. The car arrived a day earlier than estimated, in fine shape, and the trucker was an agreeable sort, although a bit "relaxed" about the transaction. The document he gave me had a check box that indicated there were "some scratches" at the time of pickup, but no detailed explanation or description, and there was no receipt available for the cash I paid him. I had him write that on the form he gave me. All turned out well, and the bottom line is that the car got here, had no damage, and arrived quicker than expected.
The Magic Carpet guys were on top of the situation at all times. The communication with them by phone and email was excellent. If one was not immediately available, another took the call, and they obviously took good notes about previous conversations.
If I ever need to do this again, I would not hesitate to call Magic Carpet again, but as I said, if you do this, keep in mind that you are largely at the mercy of the trucker(s) when it comes to the price and the length of time it takes to be delivered.
