I was very disappointed with Magic Carpet. My experience with them was way below what you'd expect from a 5 star rated company. My vehicle was going from FL to CA and looking to move in a popular route of over over 200 other autos. Only after having a discussion with the one person on call did I discover the rate I was offering the carrier ($935) probably wouldn't be enough to get my vehicle picked up on time. Therefore I made the decision to pay ($1200) a rate more in line with the top paying offers and ultimately got my vehicle shipped. This conversation should have been between me and my rep only Kathy never called me back. My messages were left with people answering the phones at Magic Carpet and Kathy told me she never received them.
I didn't have any follow up from Kathy until more than 2 weeks after the delivery. Only then did I find out I should have been receiving emails through out this process. She claims she was using the correct email address ..... And from what I can tell the only reason I got a follow-up phone call is that Kathy gets paid once I confirm my satisfaction with her performance. Looks like email is the company's choice for conveying updates. You would think a rep would find it important to verify their email communications are being received.
If you're looking for a company that can actually help you 24/7 this is not it. If you're looking for consistent communication between you and your rep Magic Carpet failed. I've worked in the transportation industry for 10 years so my expectations from a 5 star company where high. Although Kathy was very nice when we did talk and she did offer to reduce my fee to Magic Carpet by $20, (which really isn't a reduction since I added $270 to my carrier rate) I don't think my truck would have shipped on time if I didn't do the research to make it happen. Therefore I have to report back that I was very unhappy with this company and wouldn't use them again.
