I went with Magic Carpet Auto Transporters because the company was rated highly on transportreviews.com. Upon first contact with the company, the follow-through was incredibly prompt, professional and courteous. I felt confident that my request to ave my vehicle shipped from Indiana State to Washington State would be done on time.
Several days before the car pickup, it dawned on me that I hadn't heard from the auto transport company. After reaching out to them several times and leaving a couple voicemails with my contact, I was finally able to reach the head office and share my concerns about the lack of communication. I eventually got a call back from the contact stating that the price to transport my car had increased by $260 dollars. I'm not sure if this is normal conduct, but I thought it was quite unprofessional to raise the price at the last minute stating that the driver of the carrier service demanded additional money. After some negotiation, the additional money requested was reduced by $100.
The day of the pickup, after not hearing from the transport company, I called them again to determine pick-up time. Once again, I was unable to reach my contact so I went through the head office who also provided the number of the sriver picking up the vehicle. Long story short, due to transmission problems my vehicle was picked up late. I do not hold Magic Carpet liable for the late pickup, however I was a little dissapointed that I had to learn about the pickup details via the driver of the carrier truck.
I expected more from a company rated highly on a transport reviews website.
