M2Reeves is the broker I used to arrange transport of a car from Omaha, NE, to New Haven, CT. Amber, my customer service person, and Mitch, the owner, were understanding of my situation when the car arrived 2 days late. Their choice of trucking company, Freightport, was, however, not the best.
Both Amber and Mitch assure me that they have used Freightport many times with great success. Not so with my case. I paid for a driver named Dimitri to transport a vehicle and I never heard from him. Not a peep. So the vehicle shows up two days late and I sit like a sap waiting for him to show up. God, what a pain in the backside. Waste of my time. They helped in getting $75 off the cost of the delivery. Bottom line: I'd use M2 again, but would insist on more of a guaranteed delivery date and some sort of financial arrangement where they would reduce the rate paid based on the lateness of the delivery. Something like full price for X period, then 5% off for 1 day late, 15% off for 2 days late, ect. Something like that may provide the necessary economic stimulus for the broker and the carrier to get it right. Amber and Mitch were very up front and direct with me (very much appreciated) whereas their carrier and especially the driver were not. I'd use M2 again in a heartbeat, as I said, but man, I'd make damn sure they used only their most trusted drivers. Dimitri was a new name to them. Nature of the business, I guess, but that is why you pay the broker charge- to take care of things like this. They did, and for that reason, I'd use them again.
