To avoid pitfalls, Intercity is the way to go

I did hours of research online before recommending Intercity to my mom to transport her car from upstate New York to Phoenix. The cost was relatively high, but I had concluded that with the usual car transport company there is always a significant risk of inconvenience or worse. The big difference with Intercity is that all of their trucks are company owned and the drivers are company employees. They are on the hook and will stand behind their promises. With the usual transport company, you are dealing with a broker and have no way of knowing whether the actual trucking company that takes the job will be good, bad or in between. In fact you don't even know when or if a trucking company will even pick up your job. You are relying on the broker's estimate of how much money it will take to entice a trucking company to take the job within a reasonable time. This can be a big risk if you are away from well-traveled routes as my mom was. Another risk factor is if your car is larger than a conventional family sedan. Again these jobs are less desirable and may result in an indefinite delay in a trucker picking up the job. Even if the broker is honest and savvy, there is still a lot of uncertainty about whether your job will appeal to a good trucking company, given the universe of other jobs posted at the time.

I had a pretty good assurance that Intercity was highly reputable, because they were praised as such by a reputable broker/*competitor* in a published article. They proved to be just as good as I expected. They did exactly what they promised, and there were simply no problems or complications whatsoever. If you can afford to pay the price, I would heartily recommend Intercity, because if you do not hire them, you are inevitably rolling the dice to at least some extent. Also, Intercity provides a premium service, with enclosed carriers, highly professional drivers and good customer service contacts. Intercity hauls a lot of rare and expensive cars for demanding clients. They know what it takes to do a good job.
