Broker was good, shipping service was subpar

I'm not sure how to properly score this review. Nichole was generally easy to work with and responsive, but the shipper assigned to me wasn't. Nichole is a broker between customers and various shippers. The shipper I had, AMKO Automovers, did a poor job in communication. The pickup time window was ambiguous (i.e. "some time before 5PM") and the delivery came too early, when I was out of town. When I called to try to get more clarity or resolve the miscommunication, I was either deferred to someone else or got no responses from the messages I left. For both the pickup and delivery, the shipper expected I should track down his driver. To her credit, Nichole intervened and helped resolve the issues.

I had shipped my car on 3 different occasions prior to this one and never had a hitch. Given all the great reviews, I had felt good about choosing Hilton. The good news is that the car arrived fine- the most important thing. Plus the overall cost was very competitive. However, I wasted so much time on the pickup and the delivery that any savings were negated. While my gripe is with the shipper and Nichole did her best to resolve the issue (which I greatly appreciated), I have to judge Hilton on overall experience, which includes getting the right shipper assigned to me.

As an FYI, Nichole stated that she wouldn't use this shipper again.
