Harold White, of Golden Key Express, hauled my BMW across the USA in six days, picking it up on Monday 07 Sept (Labor day) in Los Angeles and delivering it himself in Boston on the 13th. This business is run properly and honestly. No sketchy brokers! To top it off, my car's battery had drained during transport, probably because I neglected to de-activate the alarm system. Harold could have just left me to deal with the car on my own after he got it off his truck (in neutral) since I had already paid him. But instead, he jumped my car and made sure I was in good shape before driving off. GKE's prices are reasonable (though brokers will try to low ball you with somewhat cheaper prices, they won't necessarily get your car moved too quickly), and they don't ask for any money up front, just pay them by cash or money order once your car is safely delivered. My advice: avoid brokers and choose Golden Key Express (or any other owner-operator business that comes recommended and is willing to deal with you directly).
