Purchased a vehicle on ebay and needed to arrange transportation to bring it from Virginia to Nevada. I thought that, since ebay included Express Auto Transport, that this company had been somehow researched and approved, by ebay, so that in the event their customer used them to transport a vehicle, that it would at least happen in a professional manner. In my case, I contacted three different car transport companies for phone interviews, before selecting Express Auto. The two primary reasons for selecting them was because of their being allowed to be part of ebays auction site, as a link, as described above,...and two, because Chris was able to answer my concerns regarding the transport process, in a promising and certain manner. I was concerned about my new vehicle being loaded and unloaded, more than the initial pick up load, and then have it brought to my home, with the second and only other unload, being when delivered. Of course, the typical response when discussing the overall process, involved me being told it would take 1 - 7 days to pick up in Virginia, and that from the day I hired Express Auto Transport, I was told by Chris to expect 10 to 13 days. I hired and gave the initial deposit of $195.00 to this firm on Nov. 13, 2009. Received a 3 page document called, "customer order", on that day by email. No other contact was made, until I phoned their office on Friday 11/20, to inquire about the fact that no one had picked it up yet and what the delay was. Cathryn was my primary contact at that point and assured me that many vehickes are assigned a driver and/or picked up over the weekend. I phoned again on Monday, 11/23, to follow up on any progress that may have opccured over the weekend. Again, spoke with Cathryn and found that nothing had changed. When I aaked what would be my options, insofar as chaning companies and getting my deposit back. Cathryn told me that I could do that but, I would loose $50.00 of the deposit amount. After that call, I read the full 3 page document they had sent me by email, in full, for the first time. It was then that I found that this company had 15 days to have a driver assigned, and if not I could cancel my commitment with them. I also found that Cathryn was wrong about loosing $50.00 if I cancelled sooner than 15 days,..it was double that,...$100.00. So, I just waited until the 15th day; (11/23/09), and called their office. Larry I. answered the call and I explained the reason for my call and why I wanted to cancel. Although Larry initiated the cancellation process, by saying he sent an email to accounting, he also said a couple things that gave me the impression that that either they have increased the number of days that they are allowed to have control of a vehicle,...(contract wise), before finding a transport,...or that I had received the wrong agreement in the first place. I did have to call twice, and strongly request that the refund process take place, and finally on December 4th, I received an email from Kim, in the accounting office, saying the refund had taken place. The bottom line for me is,...that I completely lost more than 15 days, in getting my new vehicle delivered. I don't understand how a company who's soul business is to deliver and transport vehicles, can go a full 15 days, and still not do the job they were hired to do. Very disappointing experience all the way around !!!!!!!!!
