Nice to have our car back

We had to leave our car in western Wyoming and didn't want to have to figure out how to get back and drive it another 15 hours. First the bad. We were quoted $690 and paid $63.40 deposit when we got the contract, the email saying we owed $626.60 (for a total of $690). The carrier called and said we needed to pay them $90, the balance of $600 due at delivery. I pointed out that brings it up to $753.40, not $690. I was told (politely) not sure, but great price for such a quick pick up. The alternative is to wait and see if someone will pick it up for less. I just decided to swallow that pill. Additionally, though the pick up was quick, it's not like it was delivered immediately anyway (15 hour drive, took better part of a week). And no one seemed to know when it would arrive. Also I was told only cash or certified check/money order. I got a certified check, called the driver to see when he'd get here, and I was told cash only. So I had to go back to the bank, beg them to undo the certified check, and walk around with $600 cash feeling like I was making a drug deal.

Now the good. Everyone I talked to was polite, my car arrived in fine shape, and I didn't have to go get it. And they picked it up from an auto mechanic shop. Getting the contract was extremely quick (got a call the next day from my online submission). So a little weird with the cash only, frustrating to take back the certified check, more $ than I was told, oversold on the quick pickup (because that doesn't mean super quick delivery), but very glad to have my car.
