Poor Communication Causing Cancellation

I would NOT recommend this company! I spoke with JR 1 month before the car was to be picked up. I informed him that my dad recently passed away and I was helping my mom move to Florida. I also informed him to call me because I would not have a computer at my mom's house in Pittsburgh. He assured me that he would call me between Sep. 28th and Sep. 30th since the car was going to be picked up between Oct. 1st and 3rd. He gave me this pick up window a month prior and assured me that Door To Door goes from Pittsburgh to Florida twice a week and it would not be a problem. I did not hear from him Sep. 28 or 29 so I called him on the 30th. In the meantime my husband just happend to check my emails in Dallas, TX. and noticed that Door To Door sent an email notifying me that the car would be picked up on Oct. 5th which was not even during the window that JR gave me and he knew my mom and I were flying to Florida on the 4th. If my husband had not seen the email I never would have known what was going on. I left a message (because they really do not have 24 hour live answering on their phones). When no one called me back I called again and told them that Oct. 5th was not going to work. They said they would have a tow truck driver come and move the car until they could ship it on Oct. 5th. I did not agree to this since at this point I lost all trust in them. As a result my mom has been without a car for a week now during a very difficult time in her life.

It was explained that if a 63ft car carrier could not get to a residentail area due to risk of damage to other cars on the truck ( low trees and so on) we would send a smaller truck out which we did (at no charge). We spoke with her husband Gary countless times and understood they were flying out Mon. the 4th. Our last call to Gary on Sat. the 2nd he was thankful and agreed we were sending the smaller truck (at no charge) to pickup Sun. 3rd to deliver in 4 days with all others cars coming to FL. Come Sunday the 3rd. Gary's wife turn the driver away never called us and wrote this review. We still had to pay the local driver. I must say this review is puzzling. We did everything Gary asked of us. Seems the poor communication was unfortunatly between Gary and Mrs. Schweiker. Sorry for any inconvenience.
