Just had my car shipped from Boston, MA to Los Angeles, CA. My main contact at Door to Door was JR, who was very helpful when making my reservation. He explained the whole process to me and said that I could pack up to 75lbs of personal items in my trunk (which is extremely helpful when moving cross country!). My car was scheduled to be picked up on the 5th, and arrive sometime between the 14th - 16th. I was told that I would receive an email with all of my driver's information once he had been assigned, which later I had to call to retrieve.
On the day that my car was scheduled to be picked up, I was waiting for the driver to call me. I never received a call, so I called the car company to ask. I was told the driver wouldn't be able to make it that day, but that he would be there the following day. All of this was fine, but I wish that I had been notified sooner. The next day my car was picked up by a local company, who was very professional, and driven to a terminal where it was loaded on the big truck.
During the transport of my vehicle, I called the company to get an update. I was told that the car was transferred to another truck because of a weight issue, and had a new driver. Again, this was fine, but it would have been nice to know of this change. I flew into LA on Saturday the 14th, and a few hours later, I was called by the driver who was approaching the LA area. The driver, Chris (Carey's Auto Transport), was very nice and accommodating, even willing to drive a little further to meet us in a big parking lot. Besides the car being a little dirty, everything looked great.
Overall, my transport experience was good, and I would use this company again. I would have given them 5 stars, except I felt as though the communication was a little lacking throughout the whole process.
