Amount of Final Payment Due

My only issue with Domestic Auto Transport was the amount of the final payment due upon arrival of my vehicle. The total price quote was $760. I was asked for my credit card number to authorize a pre-payment of $200 and was quoted a balance due of $560 and instructed it had to be paid either via money order or cash.

Since I would not arrive at my new home by the delivery date, I arranged for a neighbor to accept delivery and sent him the balance due to pay the driver in cash. Imagine my surprise when he called to say the car arrived on time but the balance due was $700. I called Domestic and was informed by Taylor that only $60.00 had been charged. She said someone should have explained they would only charge $60 and she apologized. This put me in a very uncomfortable situation because I had to impose on my new neighbor to cover the extra $200 that I was told had been charged to my card. It is confusing as a customer to be asked to pre-authorize a $200 payment and then only charge $60 and clarification of this point when placing my order would have avoided all the angst this caused me later.

To be fair in my assessment, all the people I spoke with when placing my order and dealing with the discrepancy of the final due amount were pleasant and professional. Likewise, the driver was also very good - pleasant and skilled at transporting cars.
