I don't usually fill out these 'online reviews', but I think Steve at Discount Auto & Truck Transporters deserves recognition. He was always polite, professional, and prompt with emailing me answers on pretty much anything. I shot him like 8 different emails in the span of 5 days and he responded to all in less than 12 hours. I think that kind of response rate is unheard of in any industry. Thanks to Steve, he arranged a fine and honest transport company by the name of Skyline Express in Los angeles. Everything went smooth from that point. Prompt and timely communication. Delivered right in the middle of the given delivery time window.
Like many people first dealing with the world of vehicle transports, I was initially put off by the way business is done in this industry. I was very anxious about placing an order with ANY broker company (companies that connect customers who want vehicle transport with transporting truck service) because I've heard so many horror stories on broker companies playing bait and switch. They would offer an unrealistically low quote (promise they'll do the job couple hundred dollars cheaper than the market rate) to get a customer to sign a deal. The price quoted of course falls short of a realistic price demanded by the transport companies. At that point no trucking company will pick your car. The problem after this is that the low-balling broker companies would never tell you this, until you physically find out the day the broker lies that the truck should be 'coming'. At that point, the broker takes advantage of this and offers to pick up your car right away but with a price tag that is way over the charts.
Fortunately, Discount Auto & Truck Transporters was the one company I found that guarantees pricing - no risk of shifting around with quotes or low-balling, bait-switch shenanigans. So the aforementioned risk does not exist. This alone makes me want to give 6 stars. This guarantee means they will certainly offer you a realistic quote, which means a tremendous peace of mind. (I don't know why the rest of the industry operates on such a counter-intuitive way. Usually when you go to any market, the price offered by the seller is the price one pays and then receives the service/product. Why does the truck industry have to diverge from this simple model so craftily? I digress.) I suggest everyone to get at least one quote from this company. Also, they are insured and bonded and registered as an A company at BBB as well.
