We are a military family and have never shipped a vehicle using a civilian business. I was dubious, if not suspicious, at every turn with having to rely on a civilian shipper. I had no way of knowing if I was going to get what I was paying for or not.
I called several shippers and was not pleased with the vague criteria for shipping or the changing nature of the price quotes and timelines.
When I called Direct Transport for information, they were upfront and helpful. They answered all of my questions directly and they told me everything else I needed to know - things I wouldn't have thought to ask. This additional information came in very handy and reinforced my belief that I was dealing with the right company.
They did exactly what they said they would do, exactly when they said they would do it. Given the flexible and inexact nature of the business of shipping vehicles, their doing just what they said they would was not only appreciated, it was reassuring.
They assigned my vehicle to Schroeder Transport of Hector, Minnesota. The driver was just as prompt, direct, thorough and professional as Direct Transport. He showed up when he said he would. He reviewed the vehicle inspection with me and told me what was going to happen and when. He was familiar with both the area I was shipping from and shipping to, and this made it more comfortable for me when explaining the available space for his carrier on both ends.
The driver delivered the vehicle when he said he would. My brother received the vehicle on behalf of my daughter, who was also present. He reviewed the vehicle inspection with both of them and answered their questions with professionalism and care. My brother told me the driver was friendly and informed, and my daughter told me the driver spoke to her just as directly and respectfully as my brother. This is worth noting my daughter is a young woman. Often, older men treat young women in a condescending manner. This was not the case with this driver.
The vehicle arrived clean, undamaged and on time. The staff of Direct Transport and the driver of the carrier were professional and helpful. I am very pleased with this transaction. If needed, I will use Direct Transport again and I will recommend them to anyone looking to ship a vehicle.
