Excellent Transport Experience

This was the very first time I've ever had to personally make arrangements for vehicle shipping. I am retired military so all of my prior shipments were done for me. I was a bit unsure, and nervous, about this process particularly because, in this instance, I was shipping from Guam and would not be able to actually be in California upon pickup. This was also a bit daunting because I was unable to provide an exact date that the vehicle would be available for pickup since it had to clear customs first- which is not prescheduled. I was only informed that the vehicle would arrive in port on Sunday, 15 Nov 09, and would begin to incur storage fees after Thursday, 19 Nov 09. Customs clearance would occur sometime between this timeframe.
I contacted Direct Auto Movers on Monday, 16 Nov 09, to make arrangements and explained the situation. Bryan Pilcher, who was already extremely familiar with the overseas and customs clearing process, assured me that he could handle this transport. Although he was prepared to pick up each day following, the vehicle did not clear customs until Thursday. Nonetheless, Bryan was already ahead of the game because by the time I contacted the port that morning to find out about the clearance, I was informed that Mr. Pilcher had called them earlier, received the information, and picked up the vehicle. When I spoke with Bryan, he informed me that we should expect the vehicle to arrive on Monday, 23 Nov 09.
The driver for this transport was Lonnie Banks (who also provided awesome service). Surprisingly the next morning, Friday, 20 Nov 09, Lonnie contacted us to inform us that he would be able to deliver that night (or possibly Saturday morning if we preferred). Later that evening, when he ran into traffic which caused a delay, he called to keep us informed. A little after midnight, our vehicle was delivered to our front door.
This company far exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that I had not contacted Direct Auto Movers earlier so that they could have handled the entire shipping process initiating in Guam. If I ever need to transport a vehicle in the future, I will not hesitate to contact them again.
