I initially contacted DAS as a result of a quote that appeared on a winning e-Bay auction. It was the lowest of the 3 quotes provided. The initial phone contact was quick and professional. However, rather than request a Deposit, Full Payment was requested. Once this initial Billing Transaction occured, the order was passed to Customer Service. The telephone hold times were not too bad and the staff was helpful. Phone messages were not returned so it was important to have all questions and concerns ready so that they could be answered during the phone call. A Carrier was quickly assigned though the driver decided the car could not be transported because the driver's side power window on the 42 year-old car was nonfunctional (It had already been loaded on the trailer & was then removed from the trailer). The Vehicle Prep page did not note that the power window must be working. I asked the Customer Service Manager (a nice lady) about this situation & she said that there are so many unique problems that can arise that they cannot list everything on the Prep Page. As a result, I incurred a $150 "Dry Run Fee" which was a non-negotiable situation (I had to pay it). The e-Bay Seller contacted me & told me that the car was removed from the trailer and was not picked-up after all. Long story short, I then spent hours online looking at many Auto Transport Customer Reviews (I can't tell you how important this step is!). I've chosen a new Broker/Carrier & things are proceeding well. DAS was very very prompt in refunding my money, asked no questions & did not charge me a Cancellation Fee (because the car had not been picked up). Though I decided to use a different Carrier, DAS was fair with me in terms of information and refund. Thank you.
