I booked with DAS without doing any research and had to pay a high price for it....I was moving from Washington State to New Jersey. I thought the option of dropping off the car was a convenience and gave flexibility of usage till a date but what happenned next was a continuous nightmare for me....I literally spent nights without sleep....
I dropped off my car to the designated WA terminal with being told my car would arrive on June 24th at my home in NJ (Estimated transit time of 14 days). I arrived in NJ on June 13 and got a rental car up to 24th June. I checked the status online every day and even on 20th June (10 days after drop off at terminal), it said it was still sitting at the origin termial waiting to be picked up...I kept calling customer service...It could take you 30 minutes to talk to a customer service rep....The cust service rep kept on saying it could take few more days to get assigned but it could still arrive in or around 24th june.. They said "Once it is loaded onto a vehicle, it will move fast etc etc....... On 20th, they even adjusted my ETA to 30th June...
I sent multiple emails to customer service (Michelle Koonce) but never got a response. I mean NEVER. I got frustrated and after looking up at other horror stories decided to have it picked up at the terminal....Even though I dropped off my vehicle and they never picked it up, they charged me a cancellation fee and storage fee in contrary to what their website says....
My car is now being shipped through another auto transport company that has an average 5 star rating and it's going to cost me $150 less and I will get door-to-door service. If you want a reliable and dependable service, DON'T USE DAS!!! If you don't want to waste your time, DON'T USE DAS!!!
I would be eager to know as to how they still have their license to operate.
