I was told that 2 weeks would be plenty to ship my car from San Diego to Baltimore. As I had plenty of time to drop my car off before I moved. I wanted to be sure there was plenty of time to accommodate DAS. I therefore did as suggested and dropped my car off at the location in El Cajon 2 weeks prior to my move. The day the movers came to my home in San Diego 2 weeks later to the day, my car had not left the drop off location. I flew out the next day and had to rent a car with an unknown return date as DAS was not sure when my car would leave the drop off location, let alone start moving across the country. Customer service was no help at all. They had no idea, or at least acted that way, as to why my car wasn't picked up. When my car finally did arrive, it had strap rub damage. This is not even worth filing the claim due to the $250 deductible.
So, don't believe their promises. Pay for the guaranteed delivery if needed. Unfortunately, I am not sure any other carriers are any better as I assume they are all brokers for drivers that take the highest paying. I certainly made my dissatisfaction clear to my agent at Allied Van Lines to not recommend DAS as it reflects badly on them.
