Shipping my M3 from New York to California

Chris from Cavalier was awesome. Had to ship my newly purchased M3 from New York to California. This is my very first experience of shipping a motor vehicle cross-country and it was time sensitive (dealer told me I had 20 days to get the car to California, smogged, VIN verified and mail them the paperwork to complete the registration in order to avoid penalty). And to make it more challenging, I needed an enclosed carrier, which availability was more limited than the opened option. Having Chris’ help along throughout the process had definitely made the transaction a smooth and pleasant one.

Like most people, I originally initiated quotes online with several providers to compare price and research on reviews. Cavalier (Chris) was the only provider who contacted me personally via phone after receiving my online inquiry and was also the only one who made an effort to deliver with such short notice. I was a little skeptical at first but most providers shy away from the deal (or said they will do their best but never heard back from them after that) once they learnt the urgency of the situation.

I initiated the quotes online on Wednesday evening, received a call from Chris on Thursday morning and told me that he can do the timeline I wanted. I told him I will consider his offer. Called Chris back at noon the next day (Friday) and told him I will go with him. Got the paperwork taken care off on the same day, waited through the weekend, and Chris called me on Monday morning that he found me a carrier and driver who can pick up on the coming Wednesday. How do you beat that? Consider it is summer time, the busiest time of the year for shipping provider. Even the provider highly recommended by my dealer was not able to deliver with such time frame but gave me whole bunch “your-business-is-no-good-with-me” attitude when I called them. With Chris, I was treated with respect and he delivered what he promised.

The driver picked up the car on Wednesday as planned and delivered my new baby in same condition as it left the dealer at my front door at late afternoon on the next Monday, two days earlier than the original seven-day estimate. What else can I say? This is a 5-star provider who delivers! Period.
