After dealing with another company for a month trying to find a truck for my car, and failing, I called Cascade to give it a shot. So I called them with about a week and a half advance notice of when I wanted my car picked up. Keep in mind that I was moving out of the city, and wanted my car to be picked up before I left.
The agent was very understanding and assuring at first. As the week went by nothing happened and she kept telling me she's looking for a truck. I even told her that I'm happy to pay more than what was quoted if it will get the car picked up. She insisted that she didn't want us to get taken advantage of, and remained set on the original price. This kept going until it was very close to the pick up date, and they was still no truck. The most frustrating thing throughout the process was that she was not very responsive, and she did not keep her word. She would say that she will get back to me in the afternoon, but she would not call. When I would call her to see what happened, she would not pick up, and when I eventually get a hold of her, she sounds annoyed that I wanted to stay informed of what is going on. If you don't want to call, or you don't want me to call, don't promise that you will get back to me in the afternoon!
Eventually she found me a truck that would pick up my car a day AFTER I left the state, and at that point I was so desperate, I said ok. I left my car with a friend who was supposed to come out and give my car to the truck. The truck was scheduled to pick up on Sunday night for delivery on Monday, OR pick up on Monday for delivery on Tuesday. So Monday morning, I got a call from the driver saying he's going to be coming in about an hour. I was so happy, I thought it was picked up on Sunday and was delivering it on Monday in Michigan. But apparently, the truck driver called me by mistake instead of my friend to set up the pick up. So when we finally realized what was going on, he was already at the pick up location, with no advance notice to my friend. To make matters worse, apparently my friend parked the car on a narrow road where the truck couldn't go, and my friend had hurt his ankle and couldn't drive the car out to the truck either. While we were trying to find someone else to drive the car out, the truck driver just left. You can imagine how frustrated I was. After trying to find a truck for a month and a half for my car, the truck driver just leaves. Granted, this is not completely Cascade's fault. My friend should have had more insight and put more effort into the pick up, BUT Cascade should have made it clearer to the driver who he was supposed to call to coordinate pick up. If he had called my friend first (instead of me) and gave him an hour advance, then maybe this wouldn't have happened. After this happened, I called the agent, and she didn't pick up. Eventually she called me, and when I thanked her for calling me back she said "I didn't get your message, I just heard about what happened right now" and proceeded to yell at me! Telling me the street was clearly marked "no trucks allowed" and that it was my responsibility to make sure it was on a road large enough. Her attitude and tone was completely unprofessional. I never asked the truck driver to go on the narrow road, and as I was trying to find someone to bring it out, and he left! He didn't even wait 5 minutes. I explained what happened to the agent, and she said she will "try to make it up to me". After that she began screening my calls, not getting back to me, breaking her promises - if that's her idea of making it up to me, I'd hate to see what she would do if she didn't want to help me. One of the few times I managed to speak to her, she said "I'm scheduling a car right now, I'll get back to you later today". Of course, I didn't hear back, and she didn't pick up my calls. Needless to say I gave up on her, and went with another company. Almost a week later she calls me to say she found a truck. Too little too late. Most frustrating person I've had to work with in a long time.
