After reading through transport reviews, I decided to give Cascade Vehicle shipping a call. They quoted me a price, and emailed the quote to myself. We talked through pick-up options, and they said they would contact me.

After not hearing back, I called a couple of times, and wasn't getting a warm feeling my vehicle was going to be picked up on time. They did call with a carrier (Motion Express) a day prior to the pick up spread. However, the price had gone up $30 from the original quote. I wasn't sure if the original quote was binding, and understanding that truckers are feeling the gas pinch, I was OK with that.

I was given the dispatcher's phone number, and the driver's phone number. The local driver called and re-scheduled pick up for three days later (which was OK because it was still prior to the movers coming, and our flight out, but cost me a rental car over the weekend). P/U went ok, and car was loaded. Orginal delievery was supposed to be the 21st, acual delievery 25th. The driver did call and say he was late a couple of times (although I did have to call their dispatch).

What I was disappointed with Cascade about: there is what seemed to be a credit card fee charged on my payment to them (maybe I missed reading it somewhere that they do that). They need to reference the person making the quote on the email, so I know who to call to confirm. They should explain the process better (i.e. you won't hear a peep from us until we get close to pick up time, because that's when trucks become available). They need to explain it is not a firm price when they email that over.
