Car Shipping Carriers

This was my first experience with purchasing a car from another state. It was also my first experience with shipping a car. I was anxious but after reading some of the negative feedback on several websites, became a bit apprehensive about the process …..until I spoke to Christina Weik at Car Shipping Carriers. Christina was extremely patient, understanding and thorough in her explanation of the entire process. Her actions gave me the level of comfort I needed before having her begin searching for a reputable carrier to ship my 1938 custom Chevy Street Rod from New Jersey to Louisiana in an enclosed trailer. I had four main conditions; use an enclosed trailer, be truthful with me, handle the car carefully, and DO NOT bring the car to a terminal/warehouse and leave for days while the carrier is trying to secure more vehicles to fill up his trailer….. and team I chose met all of them. I was told the typical shipping time from New Jersey to Louisiana was 5-7 days, possibly longer if weather conditions become unfavorable. Because I was in no bind to get the vehicle quickly, time was not of the essence but care for the customized vehicle was imperative.
After some research, Christina gave me some options and based on her recommendation and my follow up investigation of the carriers, I decided to use DR Motorsports Inc. and I’m glad I did. Once pick up times were established, the driver (and owner) Dennis Rosno arrived at the pickup location in New Jersey on Friday afternoon, promptly at 4:30pm EST Friday as promised. A thorough inspection of the car was performed at which time Dennis identified a couple of minor scratches and chips on the vehicle. The blemishes were noted on the “Vehicle Transport Condition Report”, which both he and the previous owner signed. The car was loaded and on the way to Louisiana at 5:30pm EST Friday. The projected delivery day was Tuesday, possibly sooner if the weather cooperated.
I received a call from Dennis at 7am Monday advising me he was in Alabama headed south to deliver another vehicle and if it was OK with me, he could be at my home around 5 or 5:30pm, CST, which was fine with me. He called again at 3pm CST and told me he had delivered the other vehicle and was about an hour away. He asked if it would be OK to deliver my vehicle a little earlier than previously discussed, which I was very happy for him to do. He arrived at my home at 3:45pm, unloaded the vehicle, and had me inspect it for any additional damage than noted on the “Vehicle Transport Condition Report”. No additional damage was found so I signed the document, received a copy and gave Dennis a certified check for the contracted amount.
I was very satisfied with the cost to transport the custom street rod I had recently purchased and could not have asked for a better team than Christina Weik, at Car Shipping Carriers Weikand Dennis Rosno, at DR Motorsports Inc. They were both VERY professional and honest and did everything they promised. As a result, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team to transport a vehicle, regardless of its value.
