I had been planning my trip to LA for over six months and had reserved early on with another company. They had quoted me a very reasonable price, but come less than a week before my car needed to be picked up, they called me and upted my price by almost $300. Suffice is to say I was very upset, so I went ahead and started to call all companies I could.
Most were automated experiences, loaded my inbox with emails, but not Bulldog. Mike was the person that helped me and he was AMAZING. They quoted me just $80 above original price and he was extremely knowledgeable. After much search I decided to go with their services. Everything Mike told me he did and very promptly. A few days later he sent me the driver information and true to his word the driver picked my vehicle up on time.
Now when I originally contacted them I specifically told them that I would NOT be arriving to LA until Tuesday July 2nd. To this Mike said that it would not be a problem and to just confirm that with the driver. When the driver's boss called me his name is Val, I made sure to explain to him that I would not be arriving to LA until that following Tuesday. Val also said that it would not be a problem and to make sure to tell the actual driver. Then the Driver "Errol" gets there the Tuesday before I arrived to LA, exactly 7 days prior and he pics up my car. I make sure to tell him I will no be arriving to LA until the following Tuesday in the afternoon and that delivery can't be made until then. He tells me that there is no problem at all, that he would probably get there Monday and that he would wait until I got there Tuesday afternoon to deliver.
Fast forward 5 days (Sunday) 2 days before I am scheduled to leave, Errol calls me to tell me he is in LA, and wanted to know if he could deliver my car. I was shocked, and reminded him I would not get there until Tuesday afternoon. He got upset because he said he had another job so he rudely mumbled ok and hung up.
Tuesday the day of my arrival comes and as soon as I land to LA and turn on my phone a call from Errol. I call him from my seat, airplane taxiing to the terminal. He asks me if he can deliver the car, I tell Errol that I am still on the plane waiting to get out and promise to call him as soon as I am on my way. Between the time I get off the plane and get my luggage Errol calls a few times. Once I am outside waiting for my ride I call him, he now is wanting to change the drop off location because he is nearby the airport. I explain to him I can't do that since, one I am still new and don't know the area and two I have luggage and my car had been shipped with the trunk full so my luggage would not fit there. Finally because I want the car to be delivered to the agreed location. Errol then goes on and starts to rant about how I have been making him wait since Sunday, that he had a job and because of me he was delayed, etc etc etc... Suffice is to say that the rest of my afternoon trying to get to my apartment (delayed by LA traffic and a minor crash thanks to the rush and pressure Errol was putting on us) was torturous. Once I arrive he gets there and completely mistreats me grumbling about how it was my fault etc etc. I could not believe him, he made it seem like I had never said anything about my arrival and that it was totally my fault.
I did call Val his supervisor during the events and he was extremely gracious and tried to help the situation and called Errol out, however Errol just continued. Also, it did not change the fact that my arrival was made so much more uncomfortable and unsavory thanks to this horribly rude driver.
Overall I have to say that my experience with Bulldog was Excellent, they even misquoted me by $25 and refunded me the money to my account from the deposit, so that I could pay the driver the extra $25 that was missing on that end, so they are 10000% amazing, however through no fault of their own I just lucked out in having a rude and idiotic driver.
If I write this is not to say anything bad about Bulldog or even Val's company, but that hopefully non of you ever get Errol. And if you do, make sure you write in BIG HUGE letters your arrival date on the contract, have him initial that and ohhh add an extra day to that one just in case. If you can record the moment when you are telling him, even better LOL :)
Thanks
