My entire experience with Avenderle Transport was nothing less than 6 stars from beginning to end. Since this was my first experience with having a car transported, I did quite a bit of research and ended up making a comparison chart between the 24 brokers who were kind enough to provide me with a quotation. As a result of reading some of the "horror stories" left by customers of some of the other brokers (Avenderle has no such horror stories posted as feedback), I set three conditions as my primary requirements for determining which brokers to give further consideration to. First, they must offer to accept payment for their fee via PayPal, in addition to any other means. Second, they must also not require payment of their broker's fee until AFTER the car is safely loaded on the trailer. Why these first two conditions are not already "standard practice" in the auto transport business is beyond me. Perhaps if more customers insisted on them, they would be. From the horror stories I read, if brokers followed these first two practices, it looks like 90 percent or more of the "horror stories" would be totally eliminated. My third condition was that once the car was safely loaded, that it would travel on the same trailer until it was safely delivered.
While there were only one or two brokers eliminated from final consideration because of the third condition, the first two conditions proved to be "deal breakers" with all but 3 brokers as I remember. A 4th broker agreed to not charge until the car was actually loaded, but refused to go with PayPal as a means of paying the broker's fee. Other broker's would not even consider PayPal, nor would they delay payment of their fee until the car had actually been safely loaded. Most insisted on payment of their fee as soon as they let you know that they had booked a carrier for you. And amazinglly, some even wanted payment before they would even put the time into booking a carrier.
I called Mike on Monday afternoon, October 17, 2011, to let him know I had decided to go with Avenderle. Mike was a joy to communicate with at all times, both via email and during all of our phone conversations. Within 2 hours Mike called me back to let me know that the car would be picked up on Wednesday and delivered on Sunday or Monday, October 23 or 24, 2011. Mike also gave me the driver's cell phone number. I called the driver, and he confirmed what Mike had told me. True to their word, the car WAS picked up in Ohio on Wednesday, and I then paid the broker fee via PayPal. Further, the transport driver called on Saturday to let us know that the car would be delivered on Sunday in Washington state, and the car WAS delivered on Sunday. The driver was also a joy to communicate with, both on the phone as well as in-person during pickup and delivery.
Truly, a 6 star experience without any negative aspects whatsoever.
Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Avenderle Transport without any hesitation.
