I am truly sorry that Wesley Miguel feels as he does, however, he has chosen to leave out a few select facts.
Mr. Miguel entered into a contract with AutoStar to ship his vehicle in an enclosed carrier from Los Angeles to Oak Harbor, WA. He agreed to all of the terms and conditions of the contract, which include that once a carrier has been confirmed and dispatched to load the vehicle, the deposit is no longer refundable. An enclosed carrier was located on his route that matched the dates he wished to ship. The carrier was then screened through the FMCSA, their background checked, insurance verified, and AutoStar was made a certificate holder on the carrier's insurance. Four days after the vehicle was dispatched and shortly before the carrier was due to arrive to load the vehicle, Mr. Miguel contacted our office and stated he wished to cancel the transport and wanted a refund of the deposit. I explained to Mr. Miguel that at this point in the service and according to the stipulations of the contract to which he agreed, the deposit would be forfeit. Mr. Miguel became very irate, and felt that he should be able to arbitrarily dissolve the contract on a whim, despite the loss of time, energy, money and fuel that AutoStar and the assigned carrier would suffer as a result.
Tracie and myself were nothing but polite and professional to Mr. Miguel, despite his screaming and cursing.
On a side note and not completely relevant, the one and only 'Boss' is Springsteen - I am simply the operations manager. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Best regards,
